Finding Freedom in Forgiveness

Forgiveness is not about forgetting. It is about letting go of another person’s throat. And your own.

Forgiveness is rediscovering the shining path of peace that at first you thought others took away when they betrayed you.

Forgiveness is not always easy. At times, it feels more painful than the wound we suffered, to forgive the one that inflicted it. And yet, there is no peace without forgiveness.

Forgiveness does not change the past, but it does enlarge the future.

To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you.
